Our Proud History;

Generations of Exceptional
Craftsmanship

Ted and Milli Oberg started Sydney Glass (previously known as West End Glass) in 1958 with Ted soon crafting his name firmly into the glass industry. Initially based at 2 Fairford Road, Sydney Glass soon outgrew those premises and Ted began the acquisition of the Short Street Bankstown properties where the business remains today.

Ted was responsible for some groundbreaking inventions in the glass industry: the introduction of the "free fall" concept for glass handling and the development of "speed cutters" were both Sydney Glass developments.

Ted stepped back from his hands-on role at the ripe old age of 88 and is enjoying his retirement with Milli living on the NSW South Coast.

In 2022 Ted and Milli’s son Harvey stepped into the role of Managing Director. With a lifetime of experience and expertise, Harvey is carrying on the family tradition of hands-on work practices and always with customer satisfaction at the centre of everything he does.

With over 60 years of experience in the glass industry, we can proudly and confidently boast that we have the knowledge and expertise to supply the highest quality flat glass available to the Australian market; glass solutions from major iconic buildings to family homes, and everything in between.

Sydney Glass is open Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays and end of year break. To view our regular opening hours click below.
